lunch @ grand imperial kitchen, empire shopping gallery

Decided to give this place a try as we believe it's under the grand imperial group. But they offer quick dishes and dim sum as compared to their parent that serves fine dining Chinese cuisine

Fried rice with anchovies and fried egg - rm13.30. The lunch set came with a drink (either soya bean or grass jelly). This dish was garnished with a lot of crispy anchovies. But it was too salty as the fried rice was already salty. So when taken together with the anchovies, it's really too salty

La mian soup with preserved vegetables and pork strips - rm13.30. This set also came with either a glass of soya bean or grass jelly drink. This dish was also quite salty but not as bad as the fried rice.

spaghetti grill, mid valley

Spicy dory fish panini - rm11.50. The lunch set came with refillable soft drinks. The panini was freshly toasted n I really liked the salad in the sandwich. Overall value for money considering the portion and the restaurant's ambience.

poon kee desserts, bandar puteri puchong

Decided to stop by at this shop as the soya bean stall was closed for the day. It's no surprise that this shop was crowded as they offer a wide variety of desserts at reasonable prices. Ordered the wheat barley and black glutinous rice desserts priced at rm2.60 each. I'd say that the desserts were better than the average desserts u get at pasar malam and dessert shops in ss2. Furthermore they serve curry Chee Cheong fun n deep fried popiah which are fried as you order. Will drop by again to try it's chee Cheong fun next time

lunch @ tengkat tong shin char kuey teow

Cute logo of the owners greets diners at the shop

Large char kuey teow+mee - rm6.50. Lives up to its name as one of the best ckt in kl. The noodles are topped with crispy slices of Chinese sausage n 2 large prawns. It's not easy to find such traditional tasting ckt nowadays so this place is highly recommended!

2 rolls of popiah - rm3.60. The difference in this popiah is that the sweet sauce n chilli sauce are spread on top of the popiah rather than inside the popiah. However the taste was below expectations as the filling was cold n it lacked the crunchiness of cucumber strips

lunch @ esquire kitchen, mid valley

Pork chop with rice - rm10.90. Eating this was a bad experience cos the pork chop dropped on my dress! Anyway back to the dish, I find the sauce too salty n the pork chop over-fried making it less tender than it should

Roast chicken rice.

Pork balls - rm5 for 5 pieces. There's nothing special about this dish. Tastes just like any other pork balls at other places

lunch @ sugimoto, desa sri hartamas

My bento set comprising salad, Tori karaage (fried boneless chicken), agedashi dofu n fruits. As always the agedashi dofu is silky smooth n melts in ur mouth. The set also came with a choice of white Japanese rice or garlic rice, miso soup n chawan mushi. At the price of rm16 per set, this makes for an affordable n filling lunch. Note that this place is closed on Mondays.

new iPhone cover

Yeay!!! Got a new devil iPhone cover yesterday. So cuteeee

lunch @ the bakery, sri hartamas

Spaghetti carbonara with turkey ham. Thumbs up for this dish. Very creamy sauce n generous serving of turkey ham slices. Must try!

spaghetti Alfredo. Tastes good with slight hint of the sweetness of carrot. Worth giving it a try

cheese cake for dessert. This was a pleasant surprise. The cake was so light but not as light as Japanese cheese cake but at the same time not as rich as the typical new York cheese cake. The cream cheese was just beaten to perfection. Good!!

dinner @ fong lye, gardens

Soup noodles with fried chicken chop - rm18.80

The noodles was sub-standard but chicken chop was good n crispy. A bit on the salty side though

lunch @ win soon fish head noodles, bandar puteri puchong

Fish paste mee hoon - rm7.50. This place is popular due to the comfortable ambiance, reasonable prices and generous portions. It's air-conditioned which is a super positive point to enjoy this hot dish. Slightly disappointed that the fried cuttlefish balls were sold out though. And, u may want to order 1 bowl for sharing between 2 ppl. I only managed to finish half of the portion.

yum cha @ fun taipei, ss2

Taiwanese sausage - rm6..no complaints about the taste as it's pretty standard..would have been better if they were cut into thicker slices

Saw an abandoned kitty outside one of the shops as I was walking back to the car..poor kitty..I hope someone picked it up

dinner @ italiannies, gardens

Prawn aglio olio..didn't meet my expectations..not spicy enough n didn't taste a bit like the standard version

Salmon pizza..can't comment cos I didn't eat this dish

Total bill was rm38.20 per person with 1 iced lemon tea each which was quite reasonable given the portion n ambience

lunch @ pasta zanmai, hartamas shopping centre

Chicken teriyaki - rm13.90. Looks good but tastes alright

Strawberry parfait - rm14.90
